International Women’s Day ’25

, written by

In honor of International Women’s Day, all female staff and students were welcomed to Alberton oval on Friday, March 7th. We began by hearing from guest speakers who offered their perspectives and firsthand knowledge of the gender pay gap and the everyday struggles faced by women. One of our guest speakers was also one of the four female panelists that we soon heard. A male panelist also gave his opinion on the current situation of circumstances and expressed his desire to support the change.

To support women in need, all employees and students were encouraged to bring food and feminine products to donate to the Catherine House Foundation. Everyone enjoyed the delicious meal of scones, fruits, and muffins that was served to us after we had heard all of our motivational speakers and panelists. Following the break, we all had the opportunity to participate in a free raffle where the winners would receive an iPad, a signed Port Adelaide shirt, a signed 36ers basketball, and a signed Adelaide United jersey.

We had enjoyable activities like bracelet making, Pilates, and an educational session with one of our panelists, teen nutritionist and educator Gel Pupill, following the draw of this incredible prize pool.
