Thanks to our applied, industry-based learning approach, Sports College students gain what they need to venture into future educational and employment pathways confidently and successfully. The unique senior college focuses only on Year 11 and 12.
Individual Learning Approach
Our unique ‘learning team’ approach means that students have a significant teacher or teachers and mentors who spend a significant amount of time with them and know them well in every classroom. Many of our teachers and mentors have been industry professionals themselves or are currently immersed in sports in some way. This learning team approach allows teachers to teach and mentors to mentor.
Both sets of caring professionals guide students along their pathways and are there to support, encourage and empower. Knowing students incredibly well, our teachers and mentors are fundamental to improving student well-being and outcomes through positive and meaningful relationships. Our teachers and mentors take the time to support students on their Sports College journey and ensure they have what they need to thrive and achieve success.
Teachers and mentors work with students to establish their goals, then work with students to help them source appropriate industry placements, ensuring they gain real-world skills and training. Students develop professional portfolios on their Sports College journey, which showcase every student’s unique experience and achievements, specific to their individual career and educational pathways.
